Electrolux keeps Summer alive all year with an idea for an indoor BBQ

May 10th, 2012 by

Everybody loves a BBQ, right? Whether it's a quintessentially Australian experience on a roasting hot summer's day, or, as I am more familiar with, a battle under grey skies and umbrellas in the UK, there's a Neanderthal excitement associated with cooking outdoors. The varieties of food, the combination of smells and the sense of healthy eating is enjoyed in gardens and beaches the world over. But when winter ... Read more

May 10th, 2012 by

Not Generation Y, apparently. A new national survey has found that almost half of Gen Yers would rather pass their delicate dirty laundry to dry cleaners than hand wash it themselves. The figure - established in Canstar Blue's latest washing machine survey - is four times that of baby boomers, who are more willing to use a bit of elbow grease. Nor does the expense incurred through dry cleaners bother ... Read more

Beautiful and practical kitchen sinks, stainless steel and ceramic

May 8th, 2012 by

A recent study has found that stainless steel sinks trump ceramic sinks for their durability and modern look. Kitchen sinks are the most hardworking and often underrated element in a kitchen. Sometimes they're piled sky high with dirty dishes, or they're used to wash and peel the spuds, scrub grubby hands... And it's true that stainless steel is a virtually indestructible surface, unlikely to stain or scratch badly, which is what ... Read more

A national energy standard across all whitegoods has been announced by the Federal Climate Change Minister Greg Combet.
