Appliance News Coffee Machines & Accessories

Coffee machine experts Jura came to the Appliances Online office today dispensing wisdom along with some free caffeine goodness.

Reps Sheree and Ann-Maree fought through morning traffic to demonstrate three fully-automatic machines which should satisfy even the fussiest of coffee fans.

Who are Jura?

Jura is one of the most prestigious coffee brands out there, with Nick Chernin, Coffee Category Manager at Appliances Online, describing them as being “the best coffee machines in their price range on the market – and they’re really easy to use.”

With a main office in Switzerland, they are both the pioneer and dominant global force in the area of the automatic coffee-machine. In fact, they devote their business to them. Oh yeah, and Roger Federer (right) is their global ambassador.

We had a few sceptics in the office (hello, Louise) who needed to be convinced a better cup couldn’t be produced without manual frothing. But we were all invited to enjoy a superb cup of coffee from fresh beans ground and extracted at the touch of a button in less than 60 seconds.

And lo, we were duly delighted with the taste – and the caffeine buzz that went with it.

A couple of key technologies incorporated in these puppies really stood out…

A Patented Brewing Unit

These machines understand coffee – thanks to Jura’s patented Intelligent Pre Brew Aroma System. Remarkably smart, this system can, say, adapt the quantity of pre-brewed water to amount of ground coffee selected.

At the touch of a button, the ground coffee is pressed, moistened and finally brewed – and with the optimal pressure of 7-9 bar pressure all the flavours, fats, oil and sugar are released. The result is coffee produced with the sophisticated nous of an experienced barista.

Self Cleaning

Second, cleaning is a non-issue. These things know when it’s time to have a scrub up – and they basically do it all by themselves.

From the start, any residual coffee is rinsed out, then the machine will give you the heads-up to pop in a cleaning tablet. There’s no need to remove the brewing unit – the tablets removes all coffee residues and oils from the system. 15-20 minutes and it’s done.

One more reason to love Jura …

… They left us a machine to use in the office. So we’re going to have another coffee.

And in the meantime, why don’t you check out what they’ve got to offer at Appliances Online here?
